HERE ARE A FEW OF THE MOST COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS & GENERAL INFORMATION:
Do I need shipping boots or a head bumper?
Shipping boots are not required for shipment. Young horses that have never before or are not used to boots are NOT recommended to wear any. If at any time the boots come off, it will not be reapplied for liability reasons. If you have a head bumper, we recommend it as a preventative.
Do I need insurance for my horse?
Miss Jiminy's Horse Transport is a fully licensed and insured company, and covers all horses for a minimum amount of mortality as required by law. For horses of greater value, the obligation of further insurance is required by the owner of the horse.
Can I take extra tack and how much?
Light tack is carried without charge (single trunk or saddles & bridles). Extra hay and multiple saddles/tack storage are too space consuming and will result in extra charges or a small fee.
**Please check when booking your horse if you have a large amount of tack**
What if my horse is a hard loader or you have a wait time?
Time is extremely important in order to provide accurate travel schedules. We allow a 30 minute grace period for any hard loader, waiting on paperwork, calling due to poor directions, etc. After your 30 minute grace period, a $40.00 sitting fee will be added. The determination of said charge is at the sole discretion of Miss Jiminy's Horse Transport.
Please inform us if you will be running late so we can adjust the departure schedule.
ADDITIONAL CHARGES:
If a transport has been booked a week or more in advance, we require a 50% deposit to hold the date and time. This deposit can be sent via mail or arrangements can be made for pick-up of these such monies.
We understand that at times you may need to cancel a trip due to illness or emergency, if notification is prior to 48 hours, no fee shall apply. In any case, if less than 24 hours notice is given or we should arrive for loading before we are notified of a cancellation, all monies given as a deposit for holding that particular date/time are forfeited.
We have on-call equine emergency service and a missed booked transport could effect another horses' well-being.
