Miss Jiminy's Horse Transport was established in 2001. Originally the owner, Melissa Weiser had purchased a horse trailer after finding it very difficult and time consuming to find & rely on other friends with trailers or transport companies who weren't always willing to transport just one horse. After much thought and research, Melissa decided to create a horse transport company specifically designed for only transporting 1-2 horses. By doing so, she could guarantee her clients horses could make same day trips from pick up to drop off locations rather than being stuck on a big rig going from place to place, therefore allowing the horse to spend much less unnecessary travel time in the trailer.
Taking a step further, she also had a camera system installed in the trailer with a monitor screen in her rear view mirror. This gave many clientelle the ease of mind knowing she could tell them exactly what their horse was doing at any given time. In emergency situations such as colic, it also allowed her to be able to see & know when a horse was in trouble.
Named after Melissa's Horse named " Miss Jiminy Cricket" in reference to Disney's Pinnochio character- " Always Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide". Miss Jiminy's Horse Transport has become an icon in the horse transport field by being woman owned and operated with a sense of safety & wellbeing for the equine in mind. We've hauled horses, Donkeys, Mules, Goats & even a Zebra!
We are ARIA certified and also certified members of the Voluntary Equine Emergency Response Team for Los Angeles County (VEERT) and have continually gone out to help evacuate endangered equines in fire & flood emergencies for over 10 years.
